FAQ
I can’t access my safe as the batteries have gone flat
The Fire Safe has a manual override method, in order to gain access in cases such as this you first need to apply a +9V battery to the two terminals located underneath the dial. To do this: 1) Hold the battery on to the terminals, whilst keeping the 9V battery held on with your other hand 2) Touch the digital screen to ‘wake up’ the safe’s display 3) Enter your code in the normal manner and the safe will open. Once the safe is open please replace the batteries.
I have forgotten my PIN code, what can I do?
All Yale Fire Safes are preset with factory ‘default’ codes. This code can be obtained by emailing Yale Customer Services. Your six-digit factory passcode will be emailed to you within 48 hours, together with instructions on how to use this code to gain access to your safe.

IMPORTANT
The Fire Safe is NOT supplied with an over-ride key
It is therefore important to insert the batteries and set the user code, following the instructions supplied, before closing the door.
If the door is accidentally closed before inserting the batteries, connect a 9v battery to the battery port on the outside of the Safe. Whilst holding this in place, touch the screen and enter the pre-set factory code 1,2,3,4 and press the key button.
Now set the user code following the instructions in the user manual.
