Smart Locks provide Airbnb hosts with an easy, automated solution for managing access to vacation rentals.
Follow these steps to give your Airbnb guests access to your rental property:
Pair lock(s) with the associated listing for all of your Airbnb rentals. If you have multiple locks on one rental home, select only the locks that you want to make available to guests.
There are two ways to facilitate access to your Airbnb rental for your guests: Yale App Access or Keypad Access.
Products required for auto-keypad codes include:
For home access via keypad, an Yale Connect or Doorbell Cam is required to automatically set the personal entry codes on the lock.
For home access via app, an Yale Connect is not required. However, a Connect is recommended if you would like to remotely operate the Yale Smart Lock. If your guest does not have a compatible phone, you have the option to remotely unlock the property for them. In this case, an Yale Connect needs to be paired with the Smart Lock.
If you need to revoke access to your property from someone who has rented it through Airbnb, you need to end their reservation through Airbnb. If you end the reservation via the Airbnb app any time before the reservation is up, then Yale will follow the Airbnb integration and remove their access as well.
For example, if a Guest books your property from 3:00PM 1/1/20 to 11:00AM on 1/5/20 and you decide to delete their lock access through the Yale App on 1/4/20 then the Airbnb integration will override this request and regrant that Guest access up until 1/5/20 11:00AM.
If you decided you no longer want to use the Airbnb and Yale integration, you can disconnect your accounts with the following steps:
Follow the steps below to integrate your Yale Access account with your Airbnb account.
